Train failure at Montrose disrupts morning services
ByNews reporter
A train failure just north of Montrose on Monday morning severely disrupted passenger services between Aberdeen and Dundee.
Buses replaced trains on several routes before the train was removed.
The failure happened around 6.05am and the train involved was not in passenger service.
This disrupted southbound journeys between Aberdeen and Dundee, with passengers reporting delays of up to two hours on some services. However, delays were down to just a few minutes by lunchtime.
A ScotRail spokeswoman said, “We apologise to all customers involved for any inconvenience caused.”
