Dundee Rep and Royal Lyceum Edinburgh have established a two-year working relationship to co-produce plays.
The Rep’s ensemble will work closely with counterparts at the Royal Lyceum, after announcing the partnership is to launch with a co-production of Mary Queen Of Scots Got Her Head Chopped Off by Liz Lochhead.
Directed by Lyceum associate artist Tony Cownie, this production will feature leading Rep ensemble members Kevin Lennon, Anne Louise Ross and Emily Winter. It will open at the Lyceum in September, and at Dundee Rep in October.
Rep artistic director James Brining said, “We are very pleased to be working more creatively with another of Scotland’s leading producers on the production of this classic play. It will also be great to welcome Liz Lochhead’s work back to the Rep.”
Royal Lyceum artistic director Mark Thomson added, “Our company is always looking for partnerships that enhance our work in quality and exposure. We are delighted to be co-producing with Dundee Rep Ensemble for the first time.
“The two-year partnership means both companies will join creative forces to create two theatre pieces to be seen in both cities.”
