The Courier’s Scottish Parliament election team will be in Perth today to meet readers and hold an evening hustings.

We are working with Perthshire Chamber of Commerce to stage the event in the AK Bell Library from 7pm.

Candidates standing in both the Perthshire North and Perthshire South and Kinross-shire constituencies will take part in the question and answer session chaired by our political reporter David Clegg.

During the day The Courier’s team will be in the St John’s Centre distributing tickets for the hustings and gathering questions to put to candidates.

To collect your ticket please visit us at the centre between 11am and 2pm. A number of tickets will be available at AK Bell Library this evening but if you wish to submit a question please arrive by 6.30pm.

David Clegg said, “This is fifth in our hustings series this year. The level of interest in our Perth event has been particularly high and we can all look forward to challenging exchanges between readers and the candidates standing in both seats.

“Many readers have requested tickets already and we know our partners at Perthshire Chamber of Commerce will play a prominent part in grilling politicians.”

Perth Action of Churches Together normally holds its own hustings but to avoid duplication has decided to support The Courier event. Marjorie Clark of PACT said she expects a good turnout by members will offer some robust questioning to candidates.
