Divers at Deep Sea World in North Queensferry are appealing for a boat to sink in their giant underwater safari display.
The 4.5 million-litre water display is one of the largest in Britain and is home to hundreds of different species, including three metre-long sand tiger sharks, stingrays and angel sharks.
There has been a shipwreck in the display for the past 15 years but it has started to disintegrate and staff have decided to remove it.
Deep Sea World dive officer Tina Aydon said, “As is to be expected, it has been slowly disintegrating and is now effectively in pieces. Ideally, we were hoping someone may have an old fibreglass boat which is no longer seaworthy and that they’re willing to donate.”
The underwater safari is home to one of Europe’s largest collections of sharks including native tope, bull huss, angel sharks, stingrays and the mighty sand tiger sharks.
The display is also home to hundreds of other fish and marine life, including conger eels, crabs and lobsters.
