A brave bride-to-be took the plunge by swimming with sharks while wearing her wedding dress.
Veronica Sclater, from Dunfermline, treated visitors to Deep Sea World to the somewhat unusual spectacle in North Queensferry as she continued her attempts to raise as much money as possible for a children’s charity.
Veronica and her fiance Stephen Brown have entered Forth One’s competition to win a wedding and are vying with three other couples to collect as much money as possible in a week for Cash For Kids.
After completing the feat, both will be keeping their fingers crossed that their efforts will be enough to win them everything from stag and hen parties to a wedding venue, rings, cars and honeymoon.
Tina Aydon, who is the dive officer at Deep Sea World, said, “Veronica is clearly a very determined lady and, although it was a rather unusual request, we were only too pleased to help out particularly as the dive will be raising money for local youngsters.”
The Fife tourist attraction has hosted an underwater wedding in the past, but this was the first time that someone had decided to dive in a full wedding dress.
While the sight was somewhat unusual and attracted a lot of interest, Veronica is no stranger to taking the plunge having proposed to Stephen on Christmas Day.
