Partick Thistle v Raith Rovers: Kirkcaldy boss McGlynn up for Jags clash

John McGlynn and his players may have missed out on promotion to their archrivals Dunfermline but they are still determined to end the campaign on a high by beating Partick Thistle on Saturday.

The Kirkcaldy side have been defeated in their last two games against the Pars and then Queen of the South last weekend and are keen to ensure they do not lose three on the bounce for the first and only time this season.

“The players are definitely up for this game,” said McGlynn.

“We have never lost three in a row this year so we have plenty of motivation.

“Partick have been good recently and caretaker boss Jackie McNamara will want to do as well as possible to get the job on a permanent basis.

“So, we will have to be at our best and go about things in the right manner.”

The game against the Jags may be the last time this particular group of players take the field together as McGlynn has already warned there will need to be cuts at the club this summer.

However, he stressed no firm decisions will be taken until next week at the earliest.

Graham Weir and Scott McBride, who picked up knocks against Queen of the South, are both expected to have recovered in time to travel down on Saturday.
