Antiques Road Trip makes second stop at Curr & Dewar

Antiques experts from a popular BBC2 programme stopped off in Dundee this week to test their knowledge against some unusual items.
The Antiques Road Trip made its second trip in as many years to the Curr & Dewar auction house on North Isla Street to film its latest series.
Specialists Philip Serrell and Catherine Southon spent Tuesday with Steven Dewar, owner of the auctioneers and valuers, which dates back to 1862.
Mr Dewar, who has 23 years’ auction experience, said the presence of the BBC tempted a few new faces into the sales room.
“It is great for us an auctioneer will never complain to having more people around. We did this before last year, so we must have done something right because they asked to come back.”
The Antiques Road Trip travels the UK, pitting experts against each other. Each is given a budget to buy items that they believe will fetch a profit at auction.
Some of this week’s items included silver toast racks, teardrop chemist glass bottles and butt markers for pigeon and grouse shooting. But to find out who came out on top you’ll have to watch the new series, to be screened in the winter.
