The Scottish National Jazz Orchestra will swing into Dundee on Sunday during a tour featuring specially-composed music.
SNJO director and famous saxophonist Tommy Smith has written two contrasting pieces for the ensemble.
The programme will feature Torah, a work based on the first five books of the Bible, and a tour de force for tenor saxophone and orchestra.
It will also include Beauty And The Beast, a translation of the European folk tale featuring former Miles Davis and Mahavishnu Orchestra saxophonist Bill Evans.
The SNJO is widely recognised as the leading jazz ensemble of its kind in Europe.
It was nominated in the jazz ensemble of the year category of the 2011 All Party Parliamentary Jazz Awards, and is up for a Scottish Jazz Award at the end of next month.
The show takes place on Sunday at the Caird Hall at 7.30pm and there will be a free pre-concert talk with Tommy Smith and Bill Evans at 6.45pm.
