Brechin City set to sign defender Scott Buist from second division rivals Stirling Albion

Stirling Albion defender Scott Buist is expected to become Brechin City’s seventh summer signing.
The 26-year-old defender has rejected a new contract with Jocky Scott’s relegated side to join their second division rivals. The former Alloa and Stenhousemuir man has agreed terms and the deal should be boxed off in the next couple of days.
Weir admitted that he has adopted a new approach to his squad-building for the coming season. The Glebe Park boss has made good use of loan signings in the past, but he’s decided to change tack this close season and is seeking to have a bigger permanent core pool on the club’s payroll.
He explained, “Kevin (assistant manager Kevin McGowne) and I spoke about it, and this season we’re going to try and not do as much with loan players.
“Players like Callum Booth and Ewan Moyes have been good for us but this year I’m looking to have a squad of around 18 signed players. On top of that we’ll have a couple of under-19 players who we’ll look to introduce into the senior squad.”
