Four people were injured in an Angus accident involving an ambulance patient transfer minibus and a car.
The crash was on Coronation Avenue in Montrose, near the junction with Brent Avenue, just before 10am yesterday.
The Scottish Ambulance Service minibus, which was travelling north, and a southbound Ford Focus hatchback crashed head-on.
The 35-year-old driver of the minibus and the 28-year-old car driver were treated before being taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.
The car driver, from Aberdeen, was released after treatment to a leg wound and the minibus driver was kept in for observation. His condition is not life threatening.
Two passengers from the minibus were hurt.
A 63-year-old woman received a facial laceration and has since been released from hospital. Her 82-year-old mother was detained in Ninewells and her condition is given as serious but stable.
A unit from the fire and rescue service was called to the scene.
Police closed off the crash scene to allow an accident investigation to be carried out by officers.
They are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the Y-registered blue Ford Focus any time in the lead-up to the collision.
