The first Famous Grouse festival drew to a close on Saturday.

Some of the nation’s finest solo artists took to the stage at the distillery’s Crieff visitor centre over two nights as the fledgling event got off to a successful start.

On Friday, crowds endured the rain to welcome top acts, including former Runrig frontman Donnie Munro, Dundee’s Michael Marra and former Bay City Roller, Eric Faulkner.

Despite the star power, the largest audiences were to be found at the weekend when the festival boasted a mixed menu of musical acts.

Early showers gave way to sunshine and a dry evening as former Speedway frontwoman Jill Jackson took to the stage for her second stint at the Glenturret Distillery.

She was joined by modern Gaelic band Manran, Perth’s own Mike Lee, Radio Tay Battle of the Band competition winners The Trade and rockers Glasvegas.

Headlining Saturday night’s festival line-up were Skerryvore, known for their fusion of traditional music with rock and funk. The band proved a hit from the off and had their audience dancing throughout a stunning set.

Away from the stage, Famous Grouse master blender Gordon Motion held exclusive whisky tastings, introduced visitors to the distillery’s tipples, while mixologist Andy Gemmell best known for his regular appearances on The Hour conducted cocktail-making demonstrations throughout the festival.
