A real karate kid from Angus has become the youngest black belt in Britain at his discipline.
Nine-year-old Jack Webster, a pupil at St Thomas Primary School in Arbroath, took upsamurai aikijutsu jujutsu at the age of four.
He has now become the youngest black belt in Britain.
The youngster was trained at the Arbroath School of Martial Arts by Dave McGregor, joined by his father, David. He accompanied Jack since he started and is also now a black belt.
Proud mother Linda said: “I can’t really get my head around Jack’s achievements. We’re both very very proud of him.”
Linda said going to martial arts is also shaping Jack in more ways than just fitness.
She said: “The school is very strict about discipline and respect. It’s very good for children.”
Jack could soon have a rival for his title six-year-old brother Hal has also started going to lessons.
