Chamber of Commerce urges local firms to support CityJet’s Dundee-London air route

Businesses are being urged to support flights between Dundee and London City airports.
In the wake of recent warnings from operator CityJet that passenger numbers were falling short of expectations, Dundee and Angus Chamber of Commerce has e-mailed its members with details of price promotions on the route.
The chamber said it was taking this “unusual step” following a members’ poll which showed that the perceived cost of flights was the biggest deterrent to using the service.
It added: “DACC believes that a vibrant local airport, with regular services to major cities across the UK, is a vital part of this region’s transport infrastructure and can help to grow investment and jobs.
“CityJet have made it clear to us that they are committed to doing everything they can to sustain the London City service.
“We, in turn, have assured them that DACC will do everything it can to help them grow passenger numbers.”
