Dunfermline Athletic are up for the cup with Macmillan Cancer Support’s big coffee morning

Players and officials at Dunfermline Athletic FC have given their backing to Macmillan Cancer Support’s flagship fundraising event.
The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning has become a regular fixture on the calendar of many individuals, businesses and organisations and it is no different for Dunfermline, with everyone associated with the newly-promoted SPL club vowing to do their bit to collect cash for the cause on September 30.
Director of football Jim Leishman was only too happy to help promote the event and it is hoped the charity can raise the £8.5 million it needs to reach more people affected by cancer.
All money raised will help Macmillan nurses, new cancer centres and grants to support people living with cancer who have financial problems.
April Davidson, fundraising manager for Fife and Forth Valley, said while the official coffee morning is on September 30, those who perhaps could not make that day can hold an event another time.
“All that matters is that you take part and help us make this year’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning the biggest ever,” she said. For more information visit macmillan.org.uk/coffee
