Dundee United have yet to receive a second approach from West Bromwich Albion for midfielder Scott Allan.
The Tangerines are expecting an improved offer to come in from the Baggies for the player after a bid, reportedly in the region of £250,000, was declined last week.
Allan, who has rejected a lucrative re-signing offer from the Tannadice club, has been the subject of three formal notes of interest from English Premiership clubs, one of them being Albion.
His current deal ends in the summer and he would be free to talk to clubs when the January window opens.
Meanwhile, injured defender Sean Dillon is making good progress and could yet make it back for the Tangerines’ next match at Aberdeen a week on Saturday.
Currently undergoing a coaching course, Dillon has also been working hard to regain full fitness and the signs are positive.
”Sean is one of those who have been away doing their badges but he has been coming back to see our physio Jeff Clarke to work on the injury,”said United coach Gary Kirk.
”We are hoping he will make it for Aberdeen because he is one of our more consistent performers.”
Meanwhile former United and Dundee midfielder Mark Fotheringham, who had been given training facilities by the Tangerines as he looked for a new club, has gone on trial at Carlisle United.
