An Angus man is celebrating after winning a car in a Forfar supermarket’s weekend raffle.
Gavin Milne from Letham picked the right key after getting through to the final 10 of the Tesco competition, which gained 12,000 entries from shoppers.
He was one of 10 people picked from the 12,000 to contest the final outside the Forfar store on Saturday morning.
There was a party atmosphere as friends and family of the lucky 10 gathered with shoppers to watch the drama unfold in front of the Tay FM roadshow.
Each contestant had to pull a car key from a box to see if they could open the door of the brand new 1.25 Ford Fiesta.
After five failed attempts Gavin stepped up and there were loud cheers in the car park as the door opened on turning the key.
Gavin punched the air with joy as Tesco store manager Calum Telford offered his congratulations.
He said: ”I can’t believe I’ve won. I’ve never won a competition before because I don’t enter them.
”I’ve got my mum and dad to thank because they entered this competition and put my name down. I couldn’t believe it when I got the call to say I was in the last 10.”
Gavin currently drives a Vauxhall Corsa and said he has just spent £500 doing it up.
