ByNews reporter
A murder hunt has been launched after a man was found dead in a house in Dundee’s Linlathen housing scheme.
Police units, including the dogs section, swooped on the house in Mossgiel Crescent after they received a call from the ambulance service at 10.17pm saying a man had been attacked.
Officers went to the house and found a man dead there. Police said the area was searched but the attacker was not traced.
Officers cordoned off Mossgiel Crescent at the pathway linking it with Mossgiel Place and at the junction with Mossgiel Place itself. Blue tape was also placed around the two-storey house.
The dead man has not been named by police.
A police spokesman said: ”The house has been secured whilst we examine it. The victim has not been formally identified.”
It is understood several people have already been interviewed by police but no one has been arrested.
Police refused to disclose the nature of the attack, but neighbours speculated it may have been a stabbing.
Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them on 0300 111 2222 or to call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
