A man who took knives into a bedroom and then told his partner to watch his ”slow, painful death” has been fined £400 at Perth Sheriff Court.
Alexander Milne (43), c/o Moncrieff House, Edinburgh, admitted that on October 5, at an address in High Street, Perth, he behaved in a threatening manner in that he threw items about a flat, encouraged a person to stab him with a knife, cut himself with knives and threw items out of a window on to the street below and repeatedly shouted and swore.
The court heard Milne and the complainer had been drinking in the Burns Bar in Perth and then at 1.45am she found the accused lying in the living room.
Milne threw his glass on the floor, smashing it. The court heard Milne then went into the bedroom, with a ”quantity” of knives.
He told his partner to ”watch him die a slow, painful death,” and asked her to stab him.
He then began to strike himself on the arms and legs with knives.
Milne’s solicitor said he was depressed at the time and decided to undergo alcohol counselling.
