Police say a man is helping them with their enquiries after a woman fell to her death from a multi-storey block in Lochee.
Jennifer Findlay, who was 46, died after falling from the fifth floor of Elders Court on Thursday evening.
Emergency services rushed to the scene at around 8.30pm. Shocked neighbours looked on as police officers cordoned off the scene while paramedics treated the woman.
Despite their efforts they were unable to save her and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers erected a blue tent over her body with a smaller tent nearby.
Police say her death is being treated as “unexplained” and the 44-year-old man is helping their investigation into the full set of circumstances surrounding the incident.
Last night, one man from nearby Kirk Street said: “I came over when they were doing CPR. There was a lot of police activity and the whole area has been cordoned off.
“There were three police cars and three police vans and paramedics. Another ambulance showed up after.
“I came over and the police took my details. Everyone going in to and out of the multi has had their name taken.”
Police were also carrying out inquiries in Kirk Street. One woman standing outside the cordon said: “I just got a phonecall from my nephew saying someone had maybe jumped or fallen from the fifth floor.”
Police have appealed for anyone with information to contact them on 0300 111 2222, or speak to any officer.
