Raith Rovers will be using the international break to work on trying to cut out their recent habit of conceding late goals.
The Kirkcaldy club lost goals late on in their last two home games, throwing away winning positions to take just two points from a possible six.
Saturday’s latest slip came against bottom club Dumbarton, who twice came from behind to snatch a 2-2 draw and it is a tendency Rovers boss Grant Murray wants to nip in the bud quickly.
”We’ve got to learn not to lose goals the way we’ve been losing them,” he said. ”We’ve lost two headers in the box and, although you don’t want to lose any goals, we’ll look at why we’ve been losing these goals this week.
”Obviously, there are still positives to take because we’ve been creating opportunities but we haven’t taken these opportunities so we’ve got to learn from that. But when you lose a goal so late on, there’s no recovery.”
Murray felt his side should have taken all three points from the weekend’s fixture and called on his side to be more ruthless when they travel to face Cowdenbeath a week on Saturday.
”I felt we had a lot of the ball in the first half and were creating chances, got ourselves ahead in the game,” he added. “But we switched off, we lost a bad goal and it allows them to come away with a point.
”You have to be clinical and kill teams off in this league.”
