17/07/12 PRE-SEASON FRIENDLY RAITH ROVERS V MOTHERWELL (1-1) STARKS PARK - KIRKCALDY Grant Murray in action for Raith Rovers

Changes could be on the cards for Raith Rovers when they make the short trip to face Cowdenbeath on Saturday, manager Grant Murray has hinted.

The Kirkcaldy club have fielded the same starting line-up in the last two league games but the fact both have ended with Rovers conceding late goals to throw away winning positions could force the Stark’s Park boss into a rethink for the trip to Central Park.

A 1-1 draw with Partick was followed up by a 2-2 draw with Dumbarton, although the manner of the results has concerned Murray.

Asked if changes will be made this weekend, the Raith boss said: ”We’ll take that into consideration. We are very disappointed with the way the Dumbarton game finished and we want to bounce back from that.

”You don’t want to lose goals in any game but it’s something we want to eradicate and get the guys switched on.

”We’ve got to make sure we cut it out and get the three points it’s something we aim for in every game no matter who you are playing against.

”The opportunity was there as we were ahead twice against Dumbarton but it’s about seeing the game out and denying teams opportunities so late in the day.

”Dumbarton gave a good account of themselves and from their point of view they probably thought they deserved a point at least.”

Whatever the line-up on Saturday, Murray assured Raith fans he will be going along the A92 to bring back all three points.

”You go into every game wanting to win it,” he confirmed. ”We’re not going into any game this season looking to take a point or sit back and soak up the pressure. You go into football matches to win them. That’s the mentality I’ve always had and it’s the mentality the players should have.

”Yes it’s an away game for us and it’s a pitch we haven’t been to this season but we’ve been there before and we know what it’s going to take to win a game there.”
