Fife police chief’s driving case continued until July

A careless driving case against Fife’s police chief has been continued until July 10 without plea.
Scotland’s first female chief constable Norma Graham was injured in February after her Audi Quattro was involved in a collision with a Renault Clio on the B922 near Fife police headquarters.
She was later charged under section three of the Road Traffic Act.
Chief Constable Graham was not at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Tuesday to hear her solicitor Colin Simpson secure the continuation.
The 49-year-old, who joined the police in 1978, unexpectedly announced her retirement two months after the accident.
Fife Constabulary denied her retirement had anything to do with the legal proceedings.
A spokesman said at the time: ”Police officers normally retire after 30 years. Her length of service is over 30 years. She started as a cadet.”
She will step down as chief constable on August 20, seven months before a single Scottish police force is up and running.
