Tagging order for Crieff thief who ‘decided to damage something’

Over £2500 of damage was caused when a thief smashed his way into a Crieff shop to steal rugby tops he didn’t even want.
Alistair Sinclair (26), of Corlundy Crescent, Crieff, shattered the glass of the Intersport window in East High Street with a scaffolding pole and grabbed two tops one that was too big and the other a child’s size.
He cut himself on the jagged glass and covered the stolen Scotland tops in blood.
As well as the £524 cost of the window, the broken glass covered £2000 worth of stock, which had to be binned, the court heard.
Solicitor Paul Ralph said: ”He was in a temper and decided to damage something.”
Sinclair pleaded guilty to the September 27 theft, as well as additional charges of stealing a bottle of vodka from the town’s Co-op on May 11 and breaking his court-imposed curfew on May 11 and April 28.
He was sentenced to a restriction of liberty order for nine months and ordered to pay £700 compensation.
