David Pullar, one of the most respected figures in Dundee football circles, has died at the age of 71.
The former president of the Dundee and District Youth Football Association passed away following a long battle with cancer.
Born in 1940, Mr Pullar grew up in the Beechwood area of the city and attended Liff Road Primary and Rockwell High before embarking on a career as a joiner.
He worked for a number of firms, including Oastlers, before retiring in 2006.
He married Frances, with the couple going on to have two children, Steven and Kim.
A lifelong Dundee fan, David became involved in local football through the Dundee Sunday Boys League, which evolved into the Dundee and District Youth Football Association.
His dedication to grassroots football caught the eye of the sport’s world governing body FIFA, who presented Mr Pullar with a volunteer of the year award in 2001.
Scotland’s governing body, the Scottish Football Association, granted him lifetime membership as well.
Mr Pullar is survived by his wife, two children, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
