A 22-year-old man who knocked his former girlfriend unconscious in an attack in a Dundee street has been ordered to complete 100 hours of unpaid work.
Greg Hendrie, of Charleston Drive, previously admitted assaulting Ashley Robson by grabbing her by the throat, punching her on the head, knocking her to the ground, picking her up by the body while she was unconscious and shaking her, all to her injury in South Road on January 11.
He also admitted behaving in a threatening or abusive manner, shouting, behaving aggressively and repeatedly threatening violence towards her.
The court heard previously that witnesses in a nearby house had looked out of their window and saw Hendrie grabbing Ms Robson by the throat and pushing her against a fence before she suggested they go to a flat to discuss the matter.
Hendrie said if he went to the flat he would batter her.
The court heard Hendrie had then become more aggressive and punched Miss Robson on the face.
She remained standing for a few seconds before falling to the ground.
He was then seen picking Miss Robson up and shaking her, alleging she was faking it.
The court was told that on realising she was not faking it, Hendrie dropped Miss Robson and ran off.
