A cyclist injured in a Perthshire accident at the weekend has died.
The 48-year-old man died as a result of injuries he sustained after falling from his bike around 5pm on Saturday, on the unclassified Perthshire road between Rotmell and Dunkeld.
An ambulance crew from Perth tended the victim at the scene but it was decided to summon an air ambulance.
It airlifted Thomas Anderson from Bathgate to Southern General Hospital in Glasgow, but he succumbed to his injuries.
Mr Anderson was a member of a cycle club and was one of a large group of cyclists taking part in an organised club bike run over the weekend.
Mr Anderson was riding with Falkirk Bicycle Club.
He had been with the club for 10 years and had even met his wife Katie (36) through a joint love of the sport.
No other cyclists were involved in the accident and investigations are continuing into the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal in due course.
