A forensic search of the area continued yesterday afternoon after police cordoned off the main entrance to the Trottick Mill nature reserve. The woman, who was still being spoken to by officers last night, reported the incident to police yesterday morning. Officers have yet to issue the time of the alleged incident or a description of the assailant. A Heron Rise resident whose home overlooks the ponds said she had been woken up by shouting from the area early on Monday. The woman said: ”I heard voices at about 3am which was very unusual because you never hear anything around here at that time. ”It sounded like people arguing, but I didn’t want to get up and have a look. ”When I went to work at about 9.20am I saw three police cars at the path.” A Tayside Police spokeswoman said: ”A report was received yesterday morning of an alleged sexual assault on an 18-year-old woman. ”An area at Trottick Ponds was cordoned off to allow meticulous forensic examination to be carried out.”
