Police have named the victim of an Angus road accident on Sunday night.
William Watson (79), who lived at the cottages at Shank of Omachie Farm, Wellbank, died following the crash on the Newbigging to Carlungie road. His silver Volvo left the road and collided with a fence, before coming to rest in a ditch.
Emergency services raced to the incident but Mr Watson was pronounced dead at the scene.
No one else was involved in the accident and the road was closed for a time.
Police also confirmed that the body of a 66-year-old man was found in a Ford Mondeo in Nursery Park, Brechin, on Tuesday afternoon.
Officers were called to the incident at 2.40pm and confirmed that the man was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
The car was parked outside the man’s home.
A police spokeswoman said: ”There are no apparent suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and inquiries are continuing.”
A report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.
