Public service providers in Tayside and Fife are set to benefit from a share of £143 million as part of the Scottish Government’s hub initiative.
The hub east central territory is one of five covering Scotland, which brings together major public service providers including health boards, local authorities, police and fire and rescue services.
It is led nationally and supported locally by the Scottish Futures Trust (SFT).
Council areas in Dundee, Angus, Fife and Perth and Kinross are among those expected to deliver several community infrastructure improvements over the next 10 years.
Potential projects identified include work at Brechin High School, Harris Academy in Dundee, Bridge of Earn health centre and a dentist’s in Angus.
The member bodies of the east central hub are Angus Council, Dundee City Council, Fife Council, Fife Fire and Rescue and Fife Constabulary.
NHS Fife is also a member as is NHS Tayside, Perth and Kinross Council, Tayside Fire and Rescue, Tayside Police and the Scottish Ambulance Service.
It is thought the value of the work carried out across the hub area could reach more than £450 million over the next 20 years.
Tom Steele, chairman of the east central territory programme board, said, “There has never been a better time for collaborative working across the public sector agencies given the current financial climate that we are all facing.
“This will not only drive out efficiencies regarding asset management, but more importantly provide a facility that will allow customers to undertake a number of activities during one visit.”
