Two children have been charged in connection with damage caused to new-build houses in the Kirkton area of Dundee.
Tayside Police confirmed the two €” aged 12 and 10 €” had been charged and said they were following positive lines of inquiry to identify others who may be involved.
The vandalism to properties in Dunmore Street, which are being built by Servite Housing Association, had prompted angry outbursts from residents and local councillors.
Police say since the incident, patrols have been stepped up in the area and the arrests follow publicity in The Courier.
A police spokesman said, “We continue to be aware of ongoing issues of anti-social behaviour in the Craigmore Street/Dunmore Street area and local community officers are working closely with the housing association and the council’s anti-social behaviour team with a view to addressing these problems.
“Residents can be of great assistance to us by not tolerating such incidents and telling us about them when they happen.”
