Dundee MP Stewart Hosie has praised hospital staff after suffering a mini-stroke.
The 49-year-old, who represents Dundee East at Westminster, was admitted to Ninewells Hospital on Monday after taking ill.
Wife and fellow SNP politician Shona Robison, who is the MSP for Dundee City East at Holyrood, said: ”Stewart was discharged from Ninewells earlier this evening, and is now back home with his family.
”We are deeply grateful to the hospital staff, and touched by the good wishes from people right across the political spectrum and from many other walks of life.”
Mr Hosie said: ”I am delighted with the high level of professional care I have been receiving, and would like to say thank-you to all the staff at Ninewells Hospital.”
An SNP spokesman said Mr Hosie had suffered a transient ischaemic attack (TIA) or ”mini-stroke” at the start of the week and had been receiving treatment since then.
”Stewart Hosie had a mini-stroke on Monday afternoon he is expected to make a complete recovery,” the spokesman said.
