A Fife campaign group is to attend its first council meeting since being banned 19 months ago.
Campaign Against Charges and Cuts (CACC) was ordered to leave Fife House in May last year after disrupting a full council meeting.
The group produced a birthday cake and sang happy birthday to member Ann Martin during discussions, prompting then council leader Peter Grant to announce they were no longer welcome.
The ban has now been lifted, however and CACC will attend the full council meeting today.
Member Maureen Closs said she had received an email from administration leader Alex Rowley confirming the decision and was looking forward to witnessing the democratic process once again.
Stating that no further disruption was planned, she added: “Our misdemeanour is only a fraction of what CACC has done.
“We would rather be known for policy changes we campaigned for on behalf of disabled people.
“We got people’s home care charges reduced to nil and we worked with many people following administrative mistakes.
“Alex Rowley emailed me to say the ban was lifted.”
