Stationery retailer Staples has announced plans to shut its Dundee store.
The shop in Kingsway West retail park will shut with the loss of 12 jobs as the chain closes 213 of its branches nationwide.
Though the closing date is yet to be decided, it is expected to be in the next couple of months.
Lochee councillor Tom Ferguson said this latest jobs blow showed work needs to be done to keep work in the area.
He said: “Any kind of loss is sad news, especially in our area because Lochee has Dundee’s highest unemployment.
“We’re going overboard trying to get other work into Lochee, and now we’re having to try not just to attract new businesses, but to sustain the businesses we have.”
A Staples spokesman said: “In September, Staples announced a strategic plan to accelerate growth and better serve the evolving needs of customers.
“As part of this plan, we are reshaping our business in the UK to serve customers who increasingly shop with us online.”
