A Dundee man rushed his granddaughter and baby great-granddaughter to safety after a fire broke out in the kitchen of a fourth floor flat in the Hilltown.
Around 20 firefighters with three appliances and an aerial rescue pump attended Bonnethill Court shortly after 10.30am.
Station manager Scott Gibson said: “When we arrived the smoke and flames were pouring out the kitchen window.
“Teams wearing breathing apparatus worked well to quickly extinguish the fire and then ventilated the property.
“There is severe damage in the kitchen but as the door was closed it has prevented the fire from spreading.”
The family were checked over by paramedics but did not require treatment. Three other flats were also evacuated due to the smoke.
