A new five-day-a-week flight connecting Scotland with a key oil and gas location in Norway took to the skies for the first time on Wednesday.
Operator bmi regional said it had decided to establish the new link to support the substantial North Sea oil-related traffic between Aberdeen and Kristiansund, a permanent base for oil giants Shell and Statoil.
Around a dozen offshore installations are serviced from Kristiansund and the number is expected to more than double by 2020.
Ian Woodley, chairman of bmi regional, said: “Our newest route out of Aberdeen links two important energy industry locations and will support business activity on both sides of the North Sea.”
