The company of the former president of Dundee and Angus Chamber of Commerce, Gary Langlands, has gone into directors’ liquidation.
Mr Langlands has set up a new company with a similar name to the old one, which he stressed had been put out of its misery by its directors because of “a significant bad debt.”
“We put Vision Sound and Light Ltd into a directors’ liquidation rather than having it become forced into liquidation because of a significant bad debt,” he said.
“If we had continued with the company we would have been trading insolvently.”
The liquidation of Vision Sound and Light Ltd, formed in 2004, was instructed on December 31 and seven people were made redundant at the firm’s premises in West Pitkerro industrial estate.
Mr Langlands said at the present time the new company was looking at how it should be structured and had not yet employed any staff.
The new company is operating under the name Vision Sound and Light from premises in the Wester Gourdie Industrial Estate, and its legal name is VSL (Scotland) Ltd.
The company would continue in the same business as the old one as a provider of audio visual, presentation, video and leading edge language laboratories based in Tayside.
It offers design, sale and installation and audio visual support for all applications and events.
