The 47-year-old has spent the past 22 years working with the Edinburgh-based giant. He is joining the Cumbernauld soft drinks group as a replacement for Alex Short, who is moving to the Edrington Group at the end of this month. Mr Lorimer is currently finance director of Diageo’s £4 billion global supply operation. He will join Barr’s upon completion of a handover period.
