The contribution of women to the economy of Dundee and Angus has been marked with a gala awards bash.
More then 250 guests came together to celebrate the impact of women in business at the Women Ahead Dundee & Angus event at the Apex City Quay Hotel at the weekend.
A total of six awards were handed out during the evening with Caroline Millar picking up the most enterprising business prize for the Hideaway Experience – a five-star rated accommodation provider – of Balkello Farm near Auchterhouse.
The most promising new business award went to Elaine Petrie Kenneth of Invergowrie based Fresh Inc Medispa, while Kay Gordon of Seabraes-based GFI Max took the outstanding contribution gong.
Mary Hamilton of employablity and aftercare group DEAP Ltd was named community woman of the year, award winning jewellery designer Jane Gowans took the independent prize and the young woman award went to Laura Cairns of Arbonne and Exchange Communications.
“This year, we received a record number of applications across all categories which is testimony to the increasing recognition of the role of women in business and the community and the great wealth of talent in Dundee and Angus,” Women Ahead Dundee & Angus chair Edith Adam said.
“The interest and generous support from the business community has been overwhelming.”
