North Sea operator Ithaca Energy said it is on track to deliver a “step-up” in operational cashflows.
It said average daily production lifted from 9,200 barrels in the first quarter of this year to 14,000.
Volumes had improved as a result of an uplift from the Fionn sidetrack.
Ithaca said that Don Southwest is due to come on stream in the third quarter of the year.
The optimism comes despite a delay to the Greater Stella Area Development which is expected to put back production from the field until next summer.
Profit after tax in the first quarter of the year came in at $16.4 million, a 370% increase on the $3.5m of a year earlier.
Graham Forbes, chief financial officer, said: “Earnings of $16 million represent satisfactory financial results for the first quarter, with the company on-track to deliver the anticipated step-up in operating cashflows over the coming months as the various 2014 production enhancement projects are completed.”
