CJ Lang takes top prize at Scottish Wholesale Achievers awards

Dundee-based food and drink supplier CJ Lang & Son has been named best wholesale business in Scotland.

The firm which has its headquarters in Longtown Road scooped the top prize at the Scottish Wholesale Achievers (SWA) awards.

The company owns 114 Spar stores across Scotland and supplies a further 187 independent Spar outlets north of the border.

It won the Champion of Champions accolade, while also picking up two further individual categories.

Sales director Bill Mair said: “As our competitors will testify, our industry is tough at the moment. But there are opportunities for growth if you are innovative and we will continue to invest in marketing, promotions and improving operating cost efficiencies through technology to seek out those opportunities.”
