Local legal firm RSB macdonald is merging with Edinburgh-based Lindsays as the latter looks to significantly expand its presence in the Dundee area.
The move will take effect on July 6 and has been hailed by both parties for bringing together two firms with complementary specialties.
The merged company will be known as RSB Lindsays and have its main office at Lindsays’ Dundee base in Seabraes House, but the company will retain the RSB macdonald office in Crichton Street.
RSB macdonald’s strengths are in estate agency and conveyancing services, private client work and matrimonial law in the Dundee area.
Lindsays which entered the Tayside legal scene when it took over Shield & Kyd in 2012 is a major Edinburgh legal firm with 33 partners and staffing of almost 200. It offers a wide range of expertise and resources, and is especially strong in the business sector.
RSB macdonald’s history stretches back to the 1880s when the original company Rollo Steven and Bond was formed. The current company was created after an amalgamation with Macdonald Garvie.
