An award-winning Fife holiday business is turning its attention to promoting the region’s natural larder.
Morton of Pitmilly countryside resort at Kingsbarns near St Andrews, which recently reached its 25th year in business, is run by Eilidh Smith and her stepfather John Parker.
It has welcomed visitors from across the UK and beyond.
A growth plan with Scottish Enterprise increased its visibility and saw it enter new markets, enabling it to develop golf, food and fitness packages as well as increase corporate business.
Ms Smith said she was delighted the firm had reached a milestone, especially when Fife had seen it back at the centre of the international spotlight.
“It’s been a very busy time for us with the Open in St Andrews,” she said.
“We have all worked really hard over the past 25 years to make Morton of Pitmilly a business which attracts top-class reviews.
“We feel that we can improve the business even further, with plans to develop pop-up dining and an increased retail offering on site.
“We plan to partner a number of local food producers and to promote our own produce grown on site.”
Tourism is not the only feather in Morton’s cap.
“We are still a working arable farm,” Ms Smith said.
“Our orchard, walking trails and open fields are as much an attraction as the boutique holiday homes.”
