PressureFab managing director Hermann Twickler declared there is “absolutely no threat” to his Dundee business after the liquidation of a former subsidiary company.
PFG Metalworks has been wound up by the court for being unable to pay its debts to Her Majesty’s Revenue & Customs.
An interim liquidator has been appointed under the Insolvency Act.
PFG’s former address was the premises at Riverside Business Park, Wright Avenue, previously occupied by PressureFab, the specialist oil industry equipment manufacturers.
The parent company has now moved to the former Tesco distribution centre building in Baird Avenue, off Kingsway.
Mr Twickler stressed PFG’s demise was entirely separate from PressureFab’s activities.
He said PFG was involved in his takeover of Fife engineering company Houston’s of Cupar which went into liquidation.
“It was a completely separate company which had nothing to do with PressureFab,” he said.
“There is absolutely no threat to PressureFab from what has happened to PFG.
“PressureFab has a solid order book and customer base, and a viable business with a workforce of almost 100 people.”
PressureFab outgrew its Riverside site and the move to the ex-Tesco site offers better transport links.
The 250,000 sq ft facility also has resources to design and fabricate equipment of up to 2,000 tonnes of steel in volume and single components of up to 50 tonnes.
A formal opening of the new headquarters will be held later this year.
