The first of several supplier contracts for next year’s Ryder Cup at Gleneagles have been awarded to two Scottish businesses.
Portakabin Events from Hamilton and the Glasgow-based SecuriGroup took the first two supplier agreements with Ryder Cup Europe after a tender process via the Public Contracts Scotland website.
Portakabin Events will supply 80 temporary offices and 20 storage units for the event.
SecuriGroup will provide more than 700 staff to cover safety and security services at the Perthshire venue.
“The PCS portal has enabled us to streamline our procurement processes,” Antonia Beggs, operations director for the US/Europe golf match said.
“We are already seeing the fruits of that labour as we have heard from many local suppliers keen to become involved with the event.”
Linda McDowall, executive director at Scottish Enterprise, said: “Companies, regardless of size and location, can for the first time bid for private-sector supplier contracts for the Ryder Cup through the new procurement portal.”
