The Energy consultancy Xodus Group has agreed a four-year consultancy support framework agreement to provide marine services for Interconnector Services Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Mutual Energy.
Xodus, which has three Scottish offices, will manage procurement of a survey contractor to perform investigations on the power cable and pipeline networks connecting Scotland and Northern Ireland.
The firm said the aim was to assess and maximise the asset integrity of the two systems and refine inspection techniques and emergency response procedures as appropriate.
The Moyle interconnector between the two countries is a 500MW two-cable high-voltage direct current system, the submarine section of which comprises two corridors each 55km in length.
