Scottish stores have been spared the axe in Morrisons’ plans to close 11 supermarkets.
The ailing supermarket giant announced the closures last week in a move that will see 900 people lose their jobs but did not identify the stores to go.
The company operates from 60 locations in Scotland, with one of its largest outlets at Afton Way in Dundee and other stores in Kirkcaldy, St Andrews, Glenrothes, Perth and Arbroath.
However, the firm today confirmed the stores which will close are all down south.

Chief executive David Potts said last week the decision was made “with great regret”, but added there was no way to make the affected stores “viable”.
He also admitted the supermarket chain faced a “long journey” to improve its fortunes, with pre-tax profits having almost halved in six months.
Morrisons also offloaded 140 M local convenience stores to entrepreneur Mike Greene as it bids concentrate on its larger supermarkets.
Mr Greene pledged there would be no job losses as a result of the deal.
