A health and biomedical informatics company co-founded by a leading Dundee University scientist has secured substantial new investment from two UK venture capital groups.
Aridhia, which was founded in 2008 by entrepreneur Dr David Sibbald and Andrew Morris, dean and professor of medicine at Dundee University, said it had secured substantial new investment from Albion Ventures and Scottish Equity Partners.
The investment, the size of which has not been disclosed, comes as the firm pursues expansion plans around the globe for its differentiated informatics platform which is designed to analyse large quantities of clinical data.
The company has a base in the Jacqui Wood Cancer Centre at Ninewells and has two further bases in Edinburgh and Glasgow.
Dr Sibbald said: “We are excited to have gained the backing of Albion whose expertise in the healthcare IT sector convinced us that they would be ideal partners.”
