Glaswegian temporary power company Aggreko is expecting profits to remain flat this year despite a 5% rise in group revenues.
Aggreko, which supplied power for the London Olympics, warned its underlying revenues and trading profits could be hampered by a lack of major events taking place during the year and uncertainty over some Japanese contracts.
However, this excludes the impact of the company winning the contract to supply power to the London Olympics last year.
The company said results for the six months to June 30 should be in line with these expectations, despite an overall rise in revenues.
Sales for the Americas are expected to rise by around 11% with those for Europe, the Middle East and Africa up by about 8%.
However, Aggreko’s Asian sales are predicted to fall by around 11% because of lower revenues from Japan and Indonesia.
Aggreko’s local business division, which rents out products ranging from small generators to large cooling plants, is expected to deliver a strong first half, with revenues growing by around 9% on an underlying basis.
Aggreko also expects sales in its power projects arm to be about 1% ahead of last year and that sales will improve in the second half of the year as new gas contracts come on line in the Ivory Coast and Mozambique.
