BDO’s latest monthly hotel survey, for October, found room yields the industry term for revenue rose 11% to £60.05 during the month. The comparable figure for regional UK was £48.17, while England came in at an average yield of £46.49. Occupancy in Scottish hotels was 84.5% compared with 80.4% in regional UK, 79.8% in England and 79.0% in Wales. Alastair Rae of BDO said: “Last year now looks like the turning point for the sector in its return to more normal operating conditions.”
