Levenmouth Community Energy Project hydrogen minibus scheme
ByGraham Huband
An ambitious scheme to capture renewable electricity and use it to create hydrogen gas is being progressed in Fife.
A total of £30,000 in Scottish Government funding has been made available to Levenmouth Community Energy Project to develop plans to use ‘green’ hydrogen to run a fleet of minibuses for the benefit of the local community.
The plan is to establish refuelling facilities at the Hydrogen Office at Fife Energy Park and at a Fife Council operated vehicle depot in Glenrothes.
The scheme also envisages a zero-carbon electricity grid at the energy park and a district heating network.
